Maria L. Vargas LCSW 97065
I'm a first generation Latina Christian therapist providing services in California. I began my social work career in 2011 in San Bernardino County. I engaged in grassroots social work that required me to be immersed in the community, but I sought to be of greater service by earning my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2013. Since then, I’ve continued to engage in the community by shifting from the grassroot to group and individual therapy. I’ve worked in various settings as a LCSW, however, decided that I can provide the best care to my clients by facilitating treatment via private practice.

Maria provides treatment in English and Spanish. She responds to any inquiries within 24 hours.

MY FOCUS
HEAL - EMBRACE - MOVE FORWARD
Stress is a part of life. Work, family, relationships can bring on stress. However, has it become unbearable? Overwhelming? Are the tasks on your to-do list so daunting that it’s debilitating? Life responsibilities can lead us to feel like “life” is something that is happening to us. I can help you identify your external and internal triggers to help you cope with stressors and manage your emotions in a healthy manner, so that you are in control of your emotions versus your emotions being in control of you.
Let me help you manage those ruminating thoughts keeping you up at night. Let me help you be an active participant in your life. The remedy to your problems lives in you. I can help you navigate your thoughts and emotions to help you find resolve. Stop simply existing – and start living!
HEAL
Reflecting on the Serenity Prayer - there are things we wish we can change, but can't. There is strength in recognizing the pain, but not living in the pain. Healing from the past and accepting what cannot be changed is the first step.
EMBRACE
Reflecting on gratitude and driving out negative cognitions is vital to living in the present. Many times anxiety and depression is debilitating and robs us of our day-to-day blessings. Embracing who you've become and embracing your present opens the door to being an active participant in life.
MOVE FORWARD
Reflecting on hope is imperative to keep your focus towards the future and seeing the benefit of the therapeutic process. Taking what you've learned in therapy and practicing it in your day-to-day life so that you can focus on your goals, dreams, and aspirations without being held back to your past.
Shea Hawks, SUDCC
I am a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) through CADTP. Along with my AOD specialty, I am in the Master’s in Social Work program at California Baptist University. I have worked in the field of substance use and mental health for the past 7 years.
Helping others is my passion - especially those who struggle with chemical dependency. I have worked with patients involved in all levels of care within substance abuse treatment - outpatient, intensive outpatient, detoxification, residential, aftercare, MAT, and even those in a state of crisis. There are many emotions that come with addiction - shame, grief, guilt, and most importantly, resilience. I want to help guide you through these emotions so you know you’re not alone in this life-long battle. If you or your loved ones are seeking substance use group therapy, individual sessions, or case management, I am here to help. Your best days are ahead of you, and I hope I can be a part of your journey.
